doTERRA to Host NTSA’s Annual Sheltered Conference for Those Seeking to Help Trafficking Victims
PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH- The National Trafficking Sheltered Alliance (NTSA) annual Sheltered Conference is for those who are seeking to provide the best quality of care for survivors of trafficking. This gathering brings together over one hundred attendees from across the country—social workers, residential care providers, survivors, speakers, and experts in the field—for three days of incredible sessions on serving survivors of trafficking.
“doTERRA is deeply engaged in the fight against human trafficking through our Hope Action Plan that focuses on protecting the vulnerable and restoring freedoms to those who have been impacted by this horrific crime,” said Missy Larsen, Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Impact at doTERRA. “We are grateful to welcome NTSA to the doTERRA campus as they are nationwide leaders in providing a network of service providers to enhance healing services and increase access to care for survivors of human trafficking and exploitation.”
Human trafficking is the second largest and fastest-growing criminal industry in the world, with hundreds of thousands being exploited in the U.S. This problem generates a desperate need for thousands of survivors to find a safe place where they can heal and experience high quality, trauma-informed care. As the response to human trafficking in America continues to increase, the need for service providers to collaborate and stay connected is more important than ever. NTSA is working to ensure that every survivor has access to the care they need to build a future of hope after trafficking.
This year, Sheltered Conference is being hosted by doTERRA at their headquarters in Pleasant Grove, Utah, March 28-30. The conference includes workshops and keynote speakers as well as collaborative roundtables and breakout sessions. The gathering serves not only as a time of education but as one of community.
It is this culture of community that is at the heart of both NTSA’s and doTERRA’s missions. The formation of NTSA happened organically out of a sincere desire for those in the anti-trafficking field to learn from one another so that we could each improve services for survivors and the anti-trafficking field.
