doTERRA Announces New Executive Leadership

Dec 21, 2021
David Stirling steps down as CEO, Corey Lindley appointed as successor, with Emily Wright as President

PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH—DECEMBER 21, 2021—It is with bittersweet emotion that doTERRA announces changes to its corporate leadership team. David Stirling, the company’s current CEO, has been called to serve as a Mission President for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with service starting in July 2022. Consequently, the Board of Directors has unanimously appointed Corey Lindley as CEO and Emily Wright as President, with Greg Cook now serving as Chairman of the Board.

“Service is in the DNA of who we are as doTERRA,” said David Stirling. “I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve as a mission president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During our three-year service, my wife and I will supervise and train missionaries and serve church members and the community in the geographic area where we will be assigned. I will greatly miss my many friends at doTERRA and being involved in the day-to-day happenings. I have the utmost confidence in the other Founding Executives as they continue to carry on the great work of doTERRA. Our strength has always been in our team. I have full confidence that Corey and Emily will continue guiding the company to new heights.”

Corey, Emily, and Greg, along with the other Founding Executives, Dr. David Hill, Rob Young, and Mark Wolfert have been united with David in building doTERRA into a truly global enterprise with nearly 5,000 employees working in more than 25 countries, including more than 3,000 employees at the corporate headquarters in Utah. The company also works closely with and supports millions of Wellness Advocates and customers in more than 100 countries around the world. Emily, Greg, and Dr. Hill were with David when doTERRA was just a dream with the other founding executives joining shortly thereafter. They remain fully engaged day-to day in building the company.

For over three decades, Corey has been engaged in the global world of direct selling. As CEO, he will be responsible for doTERRA’s overall operations and implementing the board approved vision, mission and strategic direction while ensuring the company remains stable and secure. Emily has more than two decades of managing and leading the global essential oils market, with a great love for developing people. As President, Emily will oversee those areas that most touch our Wellness Advocates and customers. Corey and Emily are both passionate about healing and lifting people and have unique strengths that are very complimentary when brought together for a common good.

As Chairman of the Board and an active executive in the company, Greg will ensure that corporate governance continues while contributing to the growth of the company through connecting visionary leaders and overseeing developing markets. Mark and Dr. Hill continue in their full time executive and board roles within the company. Rob continues as a board member and founding executive supporting the vision and mission of the company around the world.

“Under David’s leadership, doTERRA has become the largest and most trusted essential oil company in the world,” said Corey Lindley. “While I am humbled to have the full support of our board, I am confident that the foundation that has been established, including our strong Executive and Global Management Team gives us a tremendous opportunity to triple our global impact for good by 2030. I am excited to work closely with Emily, the board under Greg’s leadership, our Executive Team, and our leading Wellness Advocates in guiding doTERRA as we climb new mountains and reach new heights.”

“David Stirling has been my trusted business partner, friend, and confidant for many years,” said Emily Wright. “His belief in me has transformed the way I view myself, and I have no doubt that he will do the same for the people he will be serving as mission president. I look forward to the day that we will be able to work more closely together again. In the meantime, there is much doTERRA is poised to yet accomplish, and I’m more energized than ever to be part of that journey.”
