doTERRA Partners with GAA in Cork, Ireland

Mar 4, 2021

It's been almost a year since doTERRA opened a manufacturing facility in Cork, Ireland. This facility helps to supply our European markets with product, and we have a hard-working team there. Cork is also home to a wonderful community, and, much like other communities where we have a presence, doTERRA is committed to supporting the people of Cork. Recently doTERRA entered into a one-year agreement with the Cork Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in an effort to give back to the community.

Established in 1884, GAA is Ireland’s largest sporting organization and works to nurture traditional Gaelic sports and pastimes. Cork GAA competes at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, a stadium located in the heart of Cork that can hold up to 45,000 fans. The stadium is also used for various concerts and other events throughout the year. With COVID-19 restrictions being relaxed, athletes are beginning to return to the facility starting April 12. Currently, however, the stadium is being used to provide vaccinations to the local area, with about 1,000 people a day passing through the gates. The goal is to increase that number to 3,000 a day as vaccines become more available.

Cork GAA supports over 200 men's and women's clubs in Gaelic Football, Hurling, and Camogie. Athletes range in age from 5 to 35. All these athletes are amateurs, and as such have to pay their own way. The sponsorship doTERRA is offering helps these talented individuals achieve their athletic goals. As a part of showing support, the doTERRA logo is proudly displayed throughout the stadium where fans will be cheering on their favorite teams or participating in other events.
