doTERRA Continues to Upgrade its Sustainable Shipping Solutions with New Paper Mailers

Sep 23, 2022

As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, doTERRA has introduced paper padded mailers into its existing sustainable packaging solutions. Starting at the Lindon Fulfillment Center, located less than two miles away from doTERRA Corporate Headquarters in Pleasant Grove, Utah, every package shipped to consumers worldwide will be using biodegradable and recyclable paper materials.

“This is a great way for us to lessen how much plastic is entering the landfills while also providing an eco-friendly and recyclable shipping solution,” said Neil Kearsley, Director of North American Fulfillment at doTERRA and the General Manager of the Lindon Fulfillment Center.

Switching from plastic to paper offers many eco-friendly benefits, including reduced greenhouse gas emissions and a significantly lessened impact on the planet. While this switch may seem small in comparison to the larger announcement of doTERRA’s new sustainable shipping solutions nearly two years ago, the impact is just as large.

“For our Fulfillment Centers this is just a transition from one mailer to the next. For our customers, it gives them a better feeling knowing they are helping keep plastic out of our landfills while having the opportunity to recycle,” said Kearsley.

“doTERRA has seen amazing growth in the past several years because of our strong commitment to our sustainability initiatives,” said Andrew O’Hare, Chief Marketing Officer at doTERRA. “Last year, we announced doTERRA’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030. This is an ambitious goal, but one that we are aggressively working toward. We know that reaching this goal will require us to adjust across all areas of the company, and the transition from plastic to paper mailers is one of many changes we have implemented as part of our mission to triple our impact.”

doTERRA has always strived to act as a good steward of the earth—protecting and preserving its natural resources—through its sustainable sourcing initiatives. Catch up on everything doTERRA is doing to remain sustainable and set higher standards in the essential oil industry.
