The COVID-19 pandemic dramatically highlights the need of every frontline health worker—no matter how remote or isolated—to access life-saving knowledge and learning opportunities. On February 19, 2021, the World Health Organization kicked off their #LearningSavesLives webinar series to explore how partners and the World Health Organization’s Health Emergencies Program prioritize learning in national and local languages.

Dr. Mona Jamal, Maternity Department Head at Sanaag Specialty Hospital, and Sheldon Wardwell, doTERRA Strategic Sourcing Manager, were invited to participate on the first panel of the series to discuss the importance of training and education on the frontlines. Participants also discussed lessons learned over the past year and examined how multilingual learning not only enables health workers to learn more effectively but also encourages equity in health and health education.
