BYU and doTERRA Partner to Support Utah Valley Refugee Center
As part of their annual Honor Week, the Student Athletes at Brigham Young University (BYU) gathered supplies for the Utah Valley Refugee Center. Among the collected items were new clothing, blankets, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, baby wipes, and food. doTERRA also supported their efforts by donating hygiene kits.
Makayla Cazier, a member of the BYU Swim Team, participated in the service project and had this to say, “It’s been a hard year for a lot of people, and we have been blessed at BYU Athletics to still have enough, even in challenging times. Being able to gather such a large donation for those in need was a privilege to be able to do and we feel a responsibility to give back to the community that supports us. BYU Athletics has a strong commitment to its fans and to the community.”
“This was a special event,” said Dallin McClean, from the BYU Cheer Team. “It was meaningful to be a part of this because we knew that our small efforts would be helping members of the community close to home and who really can benefit from it.”
Three large pick-up trucks full of necessities were delivered to the Refugee Center, where they help support 150 clients in Utah Valley.
