It’s a Match! doTERRA Healing Hands Meets Javillar, Dominican Republic
doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation Match Program
The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation Match Program is designed to help Wellness Advocates raise additional money for non-profits and social-good organizations anywhere in the world. Once a project is approved, Wellness Advocates raise money toward the cause, with doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation matching the funds raised, up to $15,000.
The Wellness Advocate Match
Elizabeth and Miguel of Javillar, Dominican Republic shared one small bedroom with their eight children. Nearby, Nancy and Roberto’s home was being eaten out from under them by termites. Thanks to PAL Humanitarian Services, these two families were introduced to doTERRA Wellness Advocates Eric and Tagen McEntire, who had traveled to the Dominican Republic as part of a chiropractic mission trip. Recognizing the great need of these two families, the McEntires raised $15,000 which was matched by doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation for a total of $30,000—enough to provide both families with brand new homes.
The Happy Ending
The funds raised by the McEntires not only went towards building supplies, but also provided income for the 14 construction workers who built the homes—indirectly impacting more local families. An extra bedroom was also added to Nancy and Roberto’s home and serves as a temporary shelter for people in emergencies, enabling this project to continue giving back to the community. Today, both families are safe and comfortable in their new homes.
