The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation (dHHF) began their partnership with 3Strands Global Foundation two years ago (2018) as together they began to introduce the PROTECT program in Utah schools. PROTECT is an online, grade-specific curriculum that was created to educate and train teachers and students on important protocols for preventing human trafficking.
This partnership between dHHF and 3Strands Global has continued throughout the years and the PROTECT program continues to grow across the State of Utah. There are now roughly 2,317 school staff trained, five districts/charters implemented in the program, and an estimated 5,092 students educated.
Some current, ongoing, or recently completed project updates:
- PROTECT Utah team started implementation for adult training in an additional four school districts and one charter school.
- Adult training has begun in the Salt Lake City School District, Cache County School District, and Toole School District.
- Provo City School District is training local social workers and councilors to help with teaching the curriculum to the students this fall.
- Utah PROTECT team is pursuing permission for adding a new PTA project PROTECT position in each region.
