COVID Relief in the Amazon
Sep 30, 2020
The doTERRA Co-Impact Sourcing COVID-19 Relief Project is instrumental in providing needed aid to Copaiba harvesters in the Amazon region.
The objective of this project is to donate food baskets in extractive territories to support the nutritional needs of copaiba extracting families. But, their impact goes far beyond this. doTERRA is actively educating the population on COVID-19 precautions and safety measures, reducing environmental pressures to work illegally, and guaranteeing basic needs are met within each territory.
During this first phase of the project, doTERRA has been able to help an estimated 180 families or roughly 900 persons. There have also been some 3.2 tons of food donated. The positive impact on these 25+ communities due to the COVID-19 relief project has been life-changing.
